ABOUT OUR SHOP

A&M AUTO BODY INC. IS NOT JUST ANOTHER REPAIR SHOP. WE'RE YOUR LOCAL REPAIR SHOP, WE'RE PART OF THIS COMMUNITY.

With all the bad publicity surrounding Lawrence, you might think that small businesses like A&M Auto Body Inc. would be resistant to setting up shop in the city. But, Angelo Memmolo, shop owner and President views Lawrence as a great business opportunity.

“Moving to Lawrence was a great opportunity for me. It’s very hard to find a shop at a reasonable price. Lawrence presented me with a unique opportunity to grow my business and I feel very lucky we found this location. I’m happy to be here and I’m proud to say my business is in Lawrence.

“Angelo says that he is happy to be in Lawrence and adds that every community has problems, “but you don’t let stuff like that prevent you from being successful. Lawrence is our new home and we are happy about that. We hire people locally, we do the work locally, and we go out of our way to make the experience as easy for the customer as possible.

There are times we're at the shop late. We will wait for a customer if they call us later in the day. We provide towing, we handle the rental car process, we try to be a full service, one-stop shop. It's all about making the process as seamless as possible for our customers.

Angelo Memmolo

President, A&M Auto Body Inc.

Angelo's father started A&M Auto Body Inc. in 1982. It was located in a shop inside another building called Ben's Auto Body located in East Boston. He started with a partner. In the beginning they were Alex and Matteo - that’s how "A&M" was born. Within a year Matteo left the business, so Alex decided to go ahead with the business on his own.

Angelo's father came from humble beginnings to owning his own shop. That did not come without really hard work. That work ethic has carried over to today with Angelo running the business.

Massachusetts regulations have changed. The state tries to get more direct repair facilities - Massachusetts is the only state in the country that does it this way.

The state tries to find auto body shops that will work with them under their rules and regulations. Prior to the new laws and regulations, if you got into an accident depending on who your insurance company is, they used to "steer" customers to their facilities.

Many people don’t know what a direct repair facility is. That means there’s an insurance company in your office to help you with all the paperwork as a one stop-shop. But, in Massachusetts, as a customer, you can go wherever you want. You don’t have to be directed anywhere.
